Affinity Photo Windows Customer Beta - 1.9.1.943

Recommended Posts

Click here to download the latest beta - This is now distributed via CDN, so downloads should be quick for everyone... hopefully!
(note: on chrome browser you will need to use right click and use "open link in new tab", as this is an http link)

Status: Customer Beta
Purpose: Fixes
Requirements: A valid product key (for Affinity Store purchases), or an installation of the full retail version from the Microsoft Store

As this is a beta it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that may be adversely affected by the application failing, including the total loss of any documents. We hope you enjoy the latest build, and as always, if you've got any problems, please don't hesitate to post a new thread in this forum and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks once again for your continued feedback.

If you have a general question about the software, please head over to the Questions Forum, or if you have any suggestions, please head over to the Feature Requests forum.

Thanks, Mark.

It's not mentioned in your notes, but this beta also seems to give us default keyboard shortcuts for View > Studio Presets > ...

(But only in Photo, not Designer.)

Edit: No, now they're gone, after some playing around.

Well, this is a great move, but on very latest Chrome, clicking the link no longer works.
I had to copy it, then open it in a fresh tab - then the downloads were indeed fast, noticeably so out in California..

I had a look, and you're providing an 'http' link -- not 'https' which is the only thing really acceptable these days, so may have crossed with Google's push on this.

it's an idea, anyway, as I have actually in a career never seen such a refusal before...

Same is true for the photo beta, but looked like might get better notice to report here.

Worked for me after a few attempts directly from Marks post just clicking the link.

  • Not an Affinity user og forum user anymore. The software continued to disappoint and not deliver.

@narrationsd @Jowday @Mark Ingram @AlanPickup

Same happened for me, running Chrome latest version: double-clicking the link in Mark's post, nothing happened (despite several attempts); right-clicking the link and choosing to "Open in new tab", download began almost instantly!

Win 10 Pro, i7 6700K, 32Gb RAM, NVidia GTX1660 Ti and Intel HD530 Graphics

Long-time user of Serif products, chiefly PagePlus and PhotoPlus, but also WebPlus, CraftArtistProfessional and DrawPlus.  Delighted to be using Affinity Designer, Photo, and now Publisher, version 1 and now version 2.

iPad Pro (12.9") (iOS 17.4) running Affinity Photo and Designer version 1 and all three version 2 apps.

Interesting. I'm using (new) Edge here, which should be pretty similar to Chrome. I'm not sure a 500mb download warrants being served over HTTPS, but the problem may come from transitioning from the HTTPS forum to the non-HTTPS download. There's obviously nothing wrong with the download itself if you can open it in a new tab (that may be intentional from Google, to prevent people accidentally clicking from HTTPS -> HTTP).

CDN download is very quick. Around 12 secs in my case. Thanks Guys!

I can confirm that download to here has sped up considerably. It takes about 1 minute. The same applies to the AD download.
