You can use the Point Transform Tool to snap the centre of the line to a node on another curve, see attached video.
You can also set the origin of the line to wherever you want and use that for snapping (also in the video).
You may need to change some snapping settings, but I don’t know which – I mostly have them all (except Grid and Baseline Grid) switched on.
