Paul010156 Posted February 6, 2021 Share Posted February 6, 2021 1.9 crashes and sometimes I have to switch off pc and restart the programme. It happens most often when processing Astrophotography images. When image converted 32 bit to 16 bit to apply medium filter to extract background and convert to 32 bit it stops working. This has occurred 3 times now. Is this a known issue and if so is there guidance on how to prevent future crashes. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Staff stokerg Posted February 19, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 19, 2021 Hi @Paul010156 and Welcome to the Forums, Could you make sure your graphics card drivers are fully up to date and if they are, in Affinity click Edit>Preferences>Performance and at the bottom of this window is an option for OpenCL. Untick this and close Preferences and you'll be asked to restart Affinity. Once restarted, try using the app and let me know the results. If you do run into issue with OpenCL disabled, then please install the latest beta from here and see if you can replicate the issues you've been having in the beta Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Paul010156 Posted March 1, 2021 Author Share Posted March 1, 2021 I upgraded the driver only and left the OpenCL ticked. So far everything is stable even doing the 32bit/16 bit astro processing.
