Export issue after updating to 1.9

I have just updated to Affinity photo for Windows desktop 1.9.  When I try to export to JPEG format, the option does not appear only Save as type "Affinity files".

Other file type options seem OK

Yes, this problem has been reported by other users, too. The files actually do export as JPG files; only the dialog displays incorrectly.

Until it is fixed, it will be less confusing if you confgure File Explorer to show the filename extensions.

Just ignore and click save and it will save in your selected format. Drove me nuts for an hour last night.

I cant specify the location where the exported jpeg file is stored as the dialogue box is missing which specifies where you want to save the exported file? I have tried searching but cant find the file??

Please provide a screenshot so we can see what you're getting.

After I select export no further dialogue box appears to ask where I want to store the file. I search on hard drive cannot find export file.

 

Really sucks something as basic as this does not work after upgrading to 1.9.

If you're replying to @Adil _P, they seem to be doing that they do not get that dialog.

I don't any dialogue box when using save as either - seems like their QA in Mac OSX version is wanting.

But you've posted in the Bugs on Windows forum, which can be confusing   (though your screenshot above was clearly on a Mac, which helps).

Photo Bugs found on MacOS would be more appropriate, and a moderator may split this thread and move your part (or they may leave it here).

I have the same issue with saving and exporting, the only option given is a Affinity file. I have completely reinstall the program and the problem is still there.

This issue only started after I updated to the new 1.9 version. I would love get this problem solved soon because it limits the use of the program. There might be other issues which I have not noticed yet. Any sound ideas folks?

The dialog is incorrectly showing what the export will be. If you ask for JPG you get JPG. Just don't worry about it

It will also be less confusing if you configure File Explorer to show the filename extensions. Then you will see the .jpg in the filename field.

👍  Thanks for the reply, I have checked again and yes it still works! Yes it is confusing and it really needs sorting out.

I now wonder it there is any need to have the file explorer if it doesn't work because and the selection is made above?.

I'll look out for a future fix, there might be more issues? 😊
