Compatibility between Designer 1.8 and 1.9

Recommended Posts

Hi!

We are experiencing multiple issues with Affinity Designer 1.9. The showstopper for us are

- Some brushes do not work (I open another thread for this)

- Very high load times for files.

We want to downgrade to 1.8.5 until issues in 1.9 are fixed. We trust the development team will fix them soon, but there is a deadline and a contract to abide :)

The problem we are experiencing is that we can not open images modified in 1.9 in 1.8. We have tried loading 1.9 beta and copying the data by clipboard to 1.8, but the size of the layers is wrong and sometimes they get rasterized. We have tried to export as TIFF+layer info from 1.9, but that tiff does not open in 1.8

Is there any way to convert a 1.9 into a 1.8 file? Otherwise, we are stuck because of the brushes that do not work :(

Thanks in advance for all your help!

No, there isn't.

You might be able to try some other export format, perhaps PDF or (unless you have text) PSD?
