mikeill
Is there a way to make a shaoe overlap itself? So for example an arm crossing a torso would hid the edge of the torso under the arm (and maybe even retain it's color): Thanks and please pardon my vast ignorance. Loving Affinity Designer! evtonic3
This can be done so many ways but I will show you the pen tool way that has a predefined fill and stroke (blue and black stroke) to make the shapes. The good thing about this method is that you are getting the fill and stroke as you make your shape. This is only to show the principle not accuracy in drawing. First I made the body minus the arm that will overlap, where the black line has the gap is where the arm will attach. Then I drew the arm the same way, I left a gap at the end where I needed it to line up to the body. Once you get them close you can use the node tool to snap the point to each other giving you a clean body shape and outline. Like I said this is only one way. There are many. mikeill
ronnyb
Try Layer > Fill Mode > Winding (non-zero). Is there a way to make a shaoe overlap itself? mikeill
Wonderful! Try Layer > Fill Mode > Winding (non-zero). That's a very cool tip, but it doesn't block the outline: ronnyb
