Cannot reset password for Affinity store account

Recommended Posts

So I had an Affinity store account, or thought I did, with an old email address. When I try to sign in with my  new email, it doesn't recognize that email, and asked if I wanted to reset my password. So I entered the new email and hit reset, but I have not yet received any email with instructions on how to do that. So, at this point I have no access to the Affinity store account. I was just going to register and download the latest bundle for the upgrade --- it isn't urgent --- but I might need something in the future. The only message I get is that Affinity doesn't recognize any account with that email. It doesn't help to use my old email, either. I'd just set up a new account with the new email, but don't see any way to do that, either!  Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Logging in using the old email address should still work, if you have an account. But if you've forgotten the password then getting the rest to work would be a problem as you'd need access to the old email address to receive the reset instructions.

You could probably set up a new account via the My Account function in one of the 1.9 Affinity applications, but that is likely to cause other problems. So I would not recommend that. Instead, if you email dataprotection@serif.com the team there should be able to help you. Tell them the old address, and the new address, and the address you use here.

I am trying to sign in to my account via the apps (I've tried all three which i've purchased).

I can log into my account on a web browser but when I try it from the apps I get a warning 'The password you have entered is incorrect'.
I know it's not, i've checked multiple times.

Is the login to the 'store' somehow different to the app account login?
Is the login via the account using some kind of password check that differs from the website? I am using a very complex password that is longer that eight characters, but it does work on the web browser?

Thank you, Walt.  I got busy with other things and didn't check back on the Forum, so my reply is belated. I haven't done anything yet about the Affinity store account, but may try again at some point. When I changed my email address there were SO many sites I had to edit --- mostly it was easy.  I have my old password for the Affinity store account , but couldn't find any way to reset it. Maybe I won't need it!
