Unable to access free Assets Packs with Ver1.9

Recommended Posts

Updated to latest Ver 1.9 without problem and program works correctly, however when trying to download free Assets Packs program crashes.

I go to my account from within Photo and  I get the "Splash" screen asking Register or Login, if I select Login the program crashes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Geoff Stokes & @LedMax,

We're currently looking into this and have a couple of questions. If you wouldn't mind answering the following that would be much appreciated!

  1. Did you buy the app from the Microsoft Store?
  2. What version of Microsoft Store do you have running (found towards the bottom of the Settings page)?
  3. What's the version number of c:\windows\system32\RuntimeBroker.exe?
  4. Are you running any anti-virus software? If so, what is it?

Thanks in advance

HI,

1. Go to the Affinity Photo shortcut on your Desktop and Right click on it.

2. Select the menu option of Properties

3. Next select menu option of Shortcut

4 Select option of Advanced, and then tick in box of Run as Administrator

5 Click Apply

Go back to Desktop and start Program, it will ask you if you want to accept this mode, say yes and that's it

Once you have downloaded the free additions you can go back and cancel the Run as Administrator

Hope that helps

Simpler, for a one-time use: Find the icon for the app in the Start menu, right-click, choose More > Run as administrator.

I have run the programme three times in administrator mode but still no free assets. Do I have to download them from somewhere?

Have you registered the application to enable the My Account function? If so, you should have a green "My Account" icon on the right side of the Toolbar.

If you click that icon (or use Help > My Account) you should see the free (or purchased) Affinity Store content (brushes, assets, etc.) available to you. Each "pack" will have an icon indicating whether you can download/install it, or whether it has been downloaded/installed, or whether you need to access it from the Store manually using your web browser. That dialog also has options to configure which content downloads automatically for that installed instance of the application.
