Flattening a document containing specific filters causes square artifacts

Flattening a document containing specific live filters causes artifacts when Hardware Acceleration (OpenCL compute) is turned on. The offending live filters are: Vignette, Twirl, Add Noise and Lighting. If I disable Hardware Acceleration, the problem goes away.

Please see the screenshot below. I'm using the official release version of Affinity Photo 1.9.0.932. Check my signature for hardware configuration.

Same Square Artifact Issue with my Affinity Photo 1.9.0.932

Problem:

I experience Square artifacts in picture when using

- "Merge Visible"

- Export to jpg

It seems to appear when using "Hardware Acceleration" combined with live filter (in my case "Denoise") ,as mentioned by Alex_M.

The artifacts appear in different places and color/content each time when I export the file or merge the layers in the same document.

Hi @Chris B ,

Thanks for logging this with the developers. I'm not able to share the .aphoto publicly. Can I send it to you privately?

Hi @Chris B,

I appreciate your updates. Do you have new info on this or are you still unable to replicate the bug? I'm really eager to use hardware acceleration but this is a showstopper bug for me. Let me know if you need anything else from me that could help with tracking this down.

Hey Alex,

Mark reproduced it but it's still being investigated because we cannot reliably reproduce it. This makes it difficult to diagnose and fix.

I would follow Mark's announcements for the beta. If I hear anything I'll let you know.
