If you are using the new Account window from within an Affinity app, the free textures download directly into any given apps as assets. And can then be accessed via the Assets panel in app.
If you want to download the textures as actual image files, or where available as vector files, then you need to log into your Serif account by clicking the Manage Account button in the new Account window and go to your Downloads & Product Keys area and download them from there.

I have used the Account window. I can see the overlays in Windows but not in iOS app.

Welcome to the Forums @Bob Cresswell😊  I have just downloaded these overlays to my updated V. 1.9 MacBook Pro, using the My Account button on the Context Toolbar.  Ver'r'r'ry hard to see.  So I checked My Account, clicked on the Manage Account Button, then the Downloads & Products Keys area (per @markw's advice) and then scrolled down to 20 Fog Overlays as a sample, clicked on the little icon, and was given a screen with two options:  One was "Overlays (afassets)" with a download of 843MB, AFASSETS, and the other "Overlays (png)" with a download of 55.MB ZIP.  When I clicked on Finder>Downloads there was the zip file.  Double click on that and it opens to show individual png files.  This should work for each of the new Asset groups.   You can then scroll down in the same screen to the  Resources part, and you will find a downloadable PDF User Guide.  This shows each asset in detail.   Below is a partial screenshot of the opened zip file in Finder.  Hope this helps!

Good info but I’m using Windows and iOS. My understanding is that in 1.9 the overlays should ‘just appear’. I can find them in Windows but not a clue where they might be in the iOS app....

I was led astray by the "iOS" into erroneously thinking you meant Mac.  In the email that Affinity sent to us, if you scroll down far enough (in fact to the very bottom) after clicking on Learn More, you will see that these overlay packs are for Affinity Photo.  They don't mention iPad (iOS) so I would have no idea how they would work.   Hopefully someone with experience using Photo for iPad can help you.  @firstdefence?   @Alfred?  Help, somebody?

Hi @Bob Cresswell,
It's the same process as on Windows. Go to the My Account panel on iOS (tap the small avatar icon on the top right corner of the interface to sign-in) then tap the download/cloud buttons in the My Purchases section to download the overlays/addons you want. To access them tap the Assets Studio (the grid of squares icon), tap the control on top of the studio to select the category and drag the overlay you want to use from the Assets Studio to the canvas.

Hi @Bob Cresswell,
Thanks for raising this. I've been able to reproduce the issue here (and also crash the app). Please allow us a couple days to sort this out - seems there's still a few things to fix/check out. My apologies for the inconvenience this is causing you.

Well that "My Account" menu and top bar button don't work and are disabled here for my MAS (Apple Store) installments under El Capitan. Also there was never any registration indication panel shown up when I first time started apps after updating!

As Patrick has pointed out elsewhere, the Release Notes say it requires Sierra or higher.

Yes, it seems the new build-in "My Account" feature needs for programmatic technical reasons a MacOS version >= MacOS Sierra. - Though I won't and can't update the OS just for that, the used hardware is too old for new OS versions and it runs some urgent needed dev software which is more important here!

Hi @Bob Cresswell,
Regarding your issue: the assets pack is indeed installed but you can't access it because the category button does nothing. To work around this until we fix the issue, tap the small menu icon on the header of the Assets Studio and select Add Category. If you now tap the category button again, it should let you switch to the other categories/assets you have installed.

Is there a timeline for when an update will be issued to resolve this?
