Hi eleanorbeetle,

Can you go to the install directory and then inside that go into \Resources\Affintiy Designer\ and post a screenshot of that location please? The default path for this location is:
C:\Program Files\Affinity\Designer\Resources\Affinity Designer

It looks as though you're missing some files from this location. Also if you click on the 'Basic' category name can you see the newly added categories at the bottom, and if you select them do you get the new brushes?

Thanks for that - it looks to me like you're missing a series of files. We've had this happen with users before and could be related to some form of Antivirus software you may be using.

Could you fully uninstall from Add/Remove Programs and then do a complete reinstall. This should replace those missing files (provided your antivirus software doesn't interfere).
This is what you should see in that location.

That seems to have done the trick - thank you for your help!

Could you tell me how to find the textures that come with the update?

That's not a problem!

I assume you've installed the textures from the My Account dialog? If so they should be accessible from the Assets Panel.
