We are pleased to announce an update for the iPad release of Affinity Photo, version 1.9.0

Changes in this build

The changes in Affinity Photo for iPad 1.9.0 (over the last release Affinity Photo 1.8.6) are as follows:

New Features:

  • Live liquify layers
  • Linked layers
  • Pattern layers 
  • Edit spare channels as layers 
  • Stacking improvements for astrophotography
  • Divide blend mode 
  • Path text capabilities and improvements
  • External display support with separate configuration options 
  • Content sync of store purchases (requires registration)

  • Blend modes for mask layers
  • Use filters on masks
  • Create brushes from current pixel selection
  • Curves numeric field controls
  • Added export preview (for raster types)
  • Benchmarking option to measure speed of your device

Fixes & Improvements:

  • RAW improvements such as the addition of choosing the SerifLabs RAW engine and support for the latest cameras
  • Snap to pixel selection bounds
  • Elliptical marquee will automatically create from centre
  • Fixed the inability to load .cube LUT from Files and iCloud
  • Various stability improvements
  • Help and Localisation improvement

 

UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers)

The software version can be seen on the corner of preferences screen.

Your Affinity iPad apps should update automatically next time you run them. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them.

If the automatic update does not happen for you, go to the iPad App Store app and go to Updates. Once you’re there, tap near the top of the screen where it states 'Updates' and then hold, pull down and then release. This should manually refresh the updates page. However, don’t contact us if the updates are not available for you yet—Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world and this can take up to 24 hours.

It will, but there is no advantage to using it. It is the same as the release build minus about 5 last minute bug fixes
