Crop marks don't include bleed

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm a newbie and I'm really sruck please help. What should be so simple is driving me nuts!

I simply want 3mm bleed on an a4 page for brochure print.

I set up file as 300 x 213mm so to include bleed. When i set bleed i put 3mm on each side but i can't see it even when i set it to visible. Then when i click on bleed again its set back at 0.

I've tried adding margins but when i export crop marks are still not cutting off 3mm in on design. Please help. What am i doing wrong?

Using an Artboard? There is an issue with setting bleed if the document is on an artboard. If so, drag the doc layer in Layer Studio  off the artboard, set the bleed,  drag the layer back over the artboard layer.

Just create an A4 print ready artboard (or add artboard later is probably easier). Then add bleed (3mm extends beyond page size).

So I've tried all that. But lookong at yours, your bleed shows uo as pink lines. Mine doesnt show uo at all then if i click off it and back om to bleed ots set back at 0. Like it was non existent. I can never see it when setting it either and i have clicked on and off the show bleed button too. Ive chevked and theres no update available for my app, dont know what else to do🤷‍♀️

Could you use Doc menu to Save a copy (afdesign file) and attach here and I’ll have a look.😀

Will post file tomorrow.

Edit: I have attached your file with 3mm bleed now showing with print marks in Exported PDF. You should be able to edit further if needed. 🙂 Note that the iOS Files viewer does not correctly display multi page exports. You could use something like Documents (Readdle app) to check before printing.
