jonz
Designer is crashing whenever I attempt opening a file in stand-alone mode; it works fine as a persona in Publisher. No similar problems with either Publisher or Photo. I have reinstalled the program and tried switching graphics adapters; nothing seems to work. I do have a lot of fonts installed, but I can't disassemble my font installation to troubleshoot an indefinite problem. Does anyone have insight on this? I am running Windows 10 version 1909. georgiievg
Staff Sean P Posted February 17, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 17, 2021 Hi Jonz, Sorry for the delay in responding. Have you had any success with the new 1.9.0 release (or even the 1.9.1 beta)? If not could you try going to %appdata%\Affinity\Designer\1.0 and renaming the '1.0' folder to '1.0 old' and then trying to see if that helps? It sounds like there could be something in your settings that might be causing it - especially if both Publisher and Photo are working. jonz
Thanks for answering, Sean. I really had a hard time figuring this one out, and I did finally but I was never sure what really was causing it - I tried so many solutions including what you're recommending. I downloaded the latest .NET framework and it seemed like it was after I did that that the problem went away, but I'm not totally sure. In any case, everything is working well now.
