selectable psd layers in AP1.8 ?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

is it possible to activate/ deactivate seperate layers incl masks of an image which is placed as psd file? In publisher 1.8 the image is shown in the layers palette but the psd layers are not visible.

Best
Chris

If you're Placing the PSD file into your Publisher document, then it acts as an indivisible object without layers, as though it were a simple image. However, you could tell Publisher to edit the Placed document, and that would make the layers available for editing. This will only work for an Embedded PSD file, not a Linked one. Look for an Edit Document button on the Context Toolbar with that PSD layer selected. When you click it the file will be opened in a new tab for editing. When you're done editing you can just close the tab, and the changes will be applied to your Publisher document.

You could also consider Opening the PSD file, rather than Placing it, which will also make the layers available.
