How to hide chapter numbering in table of contents?

If there are only two numbers (1.1 ... 1.19 ) that you need you could set up the ToC text style for that level to use a Character style for Initial words and have the text colour transparent. Set the number of words to one and set the End Character to a space. Should work with the caveat that the ToC Paragraph and Character styles are a right royal pain to set  up and edit.

How is the chapter number (1.1, etc.) getting into the chapter title? Are you doing that with a numbering setup in your paragraph style, or adding it manually?

The Chapter number is done with an numbering setup

I think @Old Bruce's approach is the only way to do it.

Once you have generated the TOC, if you put the text cursor in the TOC you'll be able to see the text styles in the Text Styles panel. You can then double-click on the style to edit it, and watch the changes in real-time.

Ok thx to both of you. 

I saw than i can remove the number by hands directly in the TOC, but at each update numbers come back.

Changing the text style used by the TOC as Bruce suggested will avoid that problem. Change it once, and unless you actually delete the toc and recreate it the numbers will be removed automatically.
