Good afternoon, 

Over time, I've purchased all 3 applications for MacOS. Two of the applications, Photo and Publisher have been purchased on one email address tied to my new business. However the other, Designer, was published a long time ago through the Apple App Store. Is there any way to move Designer to the email address I have used for the other two applications?

@Michael Beecham The software is permanently linked to the email you use when you order it. It would not be possible to move orders between accounts I'm afraid.

Purchases via the Mac App Store are tied to your Apple ID. Can’t you simply change the associated email address?

Thanks for the response. It seems ridiculous to me that I have to buy it twice, just to collate all my purchases to the same Email address, but I guess I understand the security implications surrounding the potential passing of licenses around different people.

You shouldn’t need to buy it again unless you’re trying to move away from the MAS. In the latter case I can’t see any alternative, given that Serif and Apple don’t breach customer privacy by sharing individual customer data.

Can't you change your Apple ID email which would in turn change to whatever password you want for future installs of the Affinity apps purchased through the Apple App store?

Yeah, actually I've just done that. I'm using the App Store less and less these days, as I want to do more to support the industry at a more 'local' level, but changing my Apple ID will do the job.

What happens if the email address in question is no longer available? (for example, if I closed that account).

You only need to use the email address you used originally, when you purchased the app, if you want to reinstall the app, you don't need access to the email address. Think of it more as a security password or reference, than as an actual email address.

I see. In that case, ok I guess. Although, I can totally see how this might be a problem in the far future if someone else makes an email account with the same address I used once it becomes available. Im in the same boat as the OP -  just want to have all of them tied to my business address. Anyway, thanks for the reply!

So can I buy brushes with the same email from my Apple-ID (iPad), then buy my Windows license to also use the additional brushes on Windows?  Would be good not to be forced buying brushes etc. twice .

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Meret.

Official Affinity brushes are only available from the Affinity Store, not the Mac App Store or the Microsoft Store, so the question of where you bought your app licences isn’t relevant. You simply buy the brushes, download them, and then import them into the apps.

Or, with 1.9, you can let the apps download and install the Affinity Store brushes for you, once you've purchased the brushes. And this also works regardless of where you purchased the apps, as long as you've chosen to register the apps with Serif.
