Does "Merge Visible" reduce quality? (See comparison)

Recommended Posts

I did a merge visible and the new merge visible layer had some kind of artifact that is not visible in the underlying layers.  It looks like a slightly darker rainbow-shaped band.  Left: before merge visible.  Right: after merge visible.

Hi Mic,

Just set the blend mode of the merged layer to „difference“. If the resulting pictures is not perfectly black, you found an issue. Check the histogram, too

If your zoom level is different from 100%, some phantom display issues could occur, which vanished if zooming to 100%.

Hello,

I have similar problem with merging too. With merge visible layers as well as export picture. There are some ugly artefacts on the merged. In my case, it is caused by live filter Clarity. If I use destructive filter Clarity instead of live filter with the same value, the artefacts does not appear.
