Multipage PDF export crashes on Designer on MBP M1

Hi, I opened a 4 page PDF on Designer 1.8.6 from Apple Store on a new Macbook Pro M1 16gb and it opened fine, I changed a couple lines of text and tried to export, and as soon as I select PDF the app crashes and restarts over and over. I opened another 18 page PDF to see if it was a file problem and same thing happens, so I guess it must be a bug in Designer. I hope you guys can sort it out because it is one of the most common tasks for me. If you need me to send the PDF file to test out, just let me know.

Thanks a lot.

@Sharon Brodin & @Tamez

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums :)

Please can you try exporting your files using the latest Designer Mac beta build 1.9.0.21 which will install parallel to your current release version. We think this may have just been addressed, but I do not have an M1 machine here to test with at the moment.

1.9.0 is due to be released very soon and has reached release candidate stage

Any insight with Publisher?

I understand that this fix may have been the very last changelist to go into the latest Publisher macOS beta 1.9.0.9012 (although it is not in the official release notes, so if it does not work then the next build of Publisher beta will certainly include this change)

The solution in the meantime is to do your design work in the release build but install the beta and use it to export (DO NOT SAVE the filesare incompatible with 1.8.x)

Alternatively wait a week or 2 for the 1.9.0 update to be released.

We do not have a workaround for this new hardware, sorry.

I suppose another alternative is to use your old computer for export, yes.

Tamez,

Pleased to hear that it worked. As I said above, we are at release candidate stage so live in a week or 2
