Eyrisha Summers
Hello, I hope, you excuse my bad English. First: I use Affinity Photo version 1.8.5.703 under Windows 10. And now to my problem. Yesterday I've loaded about 100 brushes into Affinity photo. After I have finished, the brushes was corrected loaded and works. Today, I started the programm and all brushes were gone. It is the second time, that I have this problem. What works wrong? Greetings Eyrisha

walt.farrell
Did you properly close the program when you were done yesterday? If you shut down the machine without closing the application properly that can cause loss of data. ps: Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. Eyrisha Summers
Hello walt.farrell I've closed the program before shut down. It is funny: all brushes were gone, only the brushes, you get with the program stay save.
walt.farrell
That's very strange. Sorry, but I do not have any more ideas right now. Perhaps another user, or a Serif staff member, will have a suggestion for you. wonderings
If you open the folder where you put the brushes in are they still there or missing from there as well?
walt.farrell
I came up with another thought: What antivirus or anti-malware programs are you running, Eyrisha? I have seen reports of some antivirus or anti-malware programs deleting some of the Affinity files, which can cause problems like the one you're reporting. You might try turning off those programs, and then checking if the problem goes away. Or if they offer any kind of white-list capability, add Affinity Photo to that list and try again. Eyrisha Summers
Hello wondering If you mean the folder, where I put the brushes in after downloading - they are all there. Only in Affinity, they are deleted.
wonderings
I do not have a lot of experience with brushes, I have loaded a few in Photoshop but that is about the extent of my working knowledge of it. On a Mac I would load the brushes by dropping them in a folder as you will see in my screen shot. I am assuming the process is somewhat similar to Photos as the brushes need to be stored somewhere. So my question would be when you download the brush you want, and then in Photos you go through the menu and import the brush. It works fine as you say. When you close Photo, are you moving the folder the brush you downloaded was in, or delete it?
wonderings
OK you can ignore my above question and post. I did a test and loaded some brushes. Then closed Photos and opened again. I thought I had the same thing as you as I did not see all those brushes again. They are there though, I had to select the drop down menu and go to the brushes I imported. In my case the brushes I imported were labeled Legacy brushes. You will see them on the list in my screen shot. They are there twice because I added them twice thinking they had disappeared.
