Joachim_L
Maybe this is reported already. Subtracting something from something and scaling afterwards leads to strange results. I subtracted two elements from the background and scaled it afterwards. On the image top left you see the result with "Scale with object" unchecked, whereas top right you see the same with "Scale with object" checked. Why do we see lines and transparencies top left? This was originally made in the Designer Persona, but also "works" in AD as well. Staff Sean P Posted January 29, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 29, 2021 Hi Joachim_L. Would you be able to attach a copy of the file ideally with a the shape before subtraction so we can investigate the behaviour. Thanks,
Joachim_L
@Sean P Sorry for the delay. Attached the .afpub file, as this was done in APu's Designer Persona. substractandscale.afpub Quote ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed
Staff Sean P Posted February 3, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 3, 2021 Thanks for the file. This is expected - you've subtracted the two letters from the shape creating the hole as shown below. The original shape has a 3pt white stroke going around the outside, as you've not scaled this it remains at 3pt. Because the subtraction created the whole, the stroke is also being applied to that area and because its only 3pt its not going to completely fill in the gap. When you enable 'Scale with Object', the stroke gets scaled to 6.7pt, which is enough to fill this gap. Joachim_L
