MartinaKo
Hello, I opened a file which I created last year in December with Affinity Version 1.8.4. Affinity wanted to install an update to 1.8.6. I installed the update and wanted to save a new file version. While saving Affinity crashed. I tried to install the old version 1.8.4, but after opening the file Affinity crashed again. Sometimes it crashed during saving sometimes when the file was open. I tried to install Version 1.8.6. and followed the instructions renaming the preference file. But it crashed again. Anyone has a solution? Staff Gabe Posted January 22, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 22, 2021 Thanks. This is a know issue, caused by a corrupt pinned object. In your project, it's attached to Page 1 > Text Infos text frame. The way to fix it would be to edit Page 1 Detached, delete "Text Infos" and then you should be able to re-create it. Luckily it's just a small text frame. Mothoek and MartinaKo
Mothoek
i have the same problem it seems. Affinity keeps crashing while saving. How can i find what object in my project is corrupt? I uploaded my file to your dropbox.. Edited January 22, 2021 by Mothoek addition
Staff Gabe Posted January 25, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 25, 2021 It seems to be the same issue. The corrupt pinned object. They appear as a hidden object, pinned to a text frame. Same way of fixing it as above. Edit detached, delete the text frame, recreate. Page 2 - Page 4 However, there's one more instance of the "broken" pinned object on your first master. Even though this is not hidden, it's still crashing the app. Delete the Parent text frame () and you should then be able to save it. Master 1-V... Do you remember doing anything special with that table(kwartaagblad…)?
