Incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows

Recommended Posts

Hi, I just found Affinity design app and I think this is what I want without a monthly subscription fee.

I downloaded the free trial but it´s saying it´s not compatible with my Windows version.

I´m feeling a little disappointed right now because I really do need this app. Please can you help.

Thanks

It's certainly compatible with 64 bit versions of Windows, so that isn't the problem!

Here are the minimum system requirements for Photo. AFAIK they are the same for Designer:

System requirements

The minimum system requirements are as follows:

Minimum:

  • Windows-based PC with mouse or equivalent input device.
  • Operating systems (64 bit)
    • When app purchased from Affinity Store
      • Windows® 10 (1607 Anniversary update or later)
      • Windows® 8.1
      • Windows® 7 (Service Pack 1; Aero enabled)
    • When app purchased from Microsoft Store
      • Windows® 10 (Anniversary Update)
  • PC Memory:
    • 2 GB RAM (4 GB RAM recommended)
  • Hard Drive Space:
    • 702 MB of available space; more during installation
  • Monitor resolution
    • 1280 x 786 display size (at 100% scaling) or better

Additional disk resources and memory are required when editing large and/or complex documents.

Recommended:

  • For optimum performance, it's recommended to ensure Aero support is enabled in your Windows Operating System.

Welcome to the forums @Ukoma Addey
Please check that you really are running a 64-bit version of Windows.
Even if you have a 64-bit machine you can still be running a 32-bit version of Windows, which is incompatible with the Affinity applications.
If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows you may need to tell us more about your machine’s specifications or, at the very least, give us a screen-grab showing the actual message you are seeing.
