Tool shortcuts stop working

When I click layer palette tool shortcuts stop working, producing the 'error' mac sound. If I then click inside document, shortcuts begin working again. As if focus on the tools/document is lost.

I'm in Separated mode, if thats important.

I believe we have a log of this. It's a bit tricky to reproduce reliably but we have seen it. I'll update the report—cheers

Good! If it helps im also running new Mac Mini M1, macOS 11.1.

Bug still in 1.9.0.215. Very frustrating, basically unable to use brush tool on layers without resorting to palette.

Just FYI, this bug still not fixed in GM 1.9.0.216

I found a new scenario where I can (reliably) reproduce the issue even in 'non seperated' docked mode:

Make a new project

Enable 'use shift modifier to cycle tools'

create a few layers.

name one of the layers starting with "g"

select any other of the new layer named (pixel)

move that layer up or down

press "g" on the keyboard (e.g. if you want to use the (awfully slow...) flood fill tool)

now the G layer gets selected
