Duplicate and edit All Original Default of Affinity product Brushes

Recommended Posts

hi, i have 3 questions
1. may i duplicate all kind of original default brush (for example : Textured Acrylic) then replace "Brush Nozzle" and "Base Texture" with my own texture? then use it for my commercial project or sell my project to clients? in other words, i only take the brush settings
2. is that brush now copyrighted as mine?
3. how about to sell it? or must i change the setting little bit?
thank you

Yes. We are allowed to modify the brushes that Serif distributes and use them.

Probably no.

Almost certainly no. But only Serif can say for sure.  Note that some of the brushes are created by others (outside of Serif) and licensed to Serif for their use.

Also, please see this related discussion:

and especially this response in that discussion by @Dan C:

That would apply to your use of the brushes, too, and would (I think) prevent their sale, and only allow distribution of the brushes on this site. Again, Serif will have the final answer.

Hi @awan,

The thread's @walt.farrell have some good information about this so are worth checking out.  However, i think to be 100% safe so that you are not copying, reproducing, adapting a brush made by someone else, it would best best to make your own brushes from scratch as this would avoid any copyright issues you could run into when it comes to selling/distributing any brushes.
