walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @n02. A screenshot of the Designer workspace would help, but for some guesses: 1. You pressed the Tab key. Just press it again. It's a shortcut for View > Toggle UI. 2. You toggled View > Show Tools. Just toggle it again. Otherwise all we can do is guess. (It might also help if you click on the View menu and include that in the screenshot.) Old Bruce
You have some serious screen draw problems going on there. Quit all your applications and shutdown your mac. Do a Safe Startup by holding down the shift key while starting up the machine (plug it in as this may take a while) then once you are logged in restart (normally, don't hold down any keys) and see if this problem continues. Truly this is serious. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Old Bruce
18 minutes ago, n02 said: this is serious and my deadline approaches Are you running the latest Mac OS? I ask because I have not seen a Blue Menu Bar before. Do any other applications exhibit similar views of the menu? Are you running the Designer from the Applications folder on your main hard drive? The answer should be yes. Do you run any helper or utility applications for the system? The answer should be no (for now). I am just guessing here... The Designer Application seems to be missing a whole lot of stuff, menus on up to the context tool bar. I would suggest trashing the Designer Application and downloading and reinstalling it. walt.farrell
You might try restarting your Mac again, then holding the Ctrl key as you start Designer until you get the Clear User Data dialog. Leave the first 3 items checked, and press the Clear button. Staff Sean P Posted January 12, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 12, 2021 Hi n02, Could you try performing a screen recording whilst you do the following steps please: Note doing this will reset and remove any brushes, assets, styles, swatches etc so first please follow these steps to back these folders up. If you purchased from the Mac App Store could you try these steps please: Go to Macintosh HD\Users\username\Library\Containers\ rename the 'com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner' folder to 'com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner.old' - If you're running Big Sur this name displays differently as 'Affinity Designer' so just create a copy of this folder and place it on your desktop out of the way for now. Now hold down Ctrl and run Affinity Designer You should see a big list of checkboxes appear - if you don't you haven't held Ctrl down correctly Click all of these and then press 'Clear' Instead if you purchased from the Affinity Store could you try these steps please: Go to Macintosh HD\Users\username\Library\Application Support\ rename the 'Affinity Designer' folder to 'Affinity Designer Old' Now hold down Ctrl and run Affinity Designer You should see a big list of checkboxes appear - if you don't you haven't held Ctrl down correctly Click all of these and then press 'Clear' Does this reset the app and display it correctly? If it does could you zip up and attach the folder you renamed in the steps above please. If it did not could you attach the screen recording please? Also what model Mac are you using? Is it a new one with an M1 chip?
