Hi

I'm working one Affinity designer and I've notice that, in the same text box, the number are a bit above the letters. I look at the style and all looks equal except the letters (some) are in italic but that makes very little sense to me because what I see is that the bottom of the numbers are a bit higher than the italics letters. How to solve this?

I have no idea how to fix your problem, but I feel it would help if you gave more information. Are you typing the name of the sponge  and what I presume is some ID code directy into the text box, or ar they being pasted in from some external source? If the latter, then they may have brought the formatting in with them.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Raquel Pereira.

What font(s) are you using for all that text?

I think the red underlines are tricking your eye.

If you look closely it's the Q tail that gives the illusion the numbers are above...

Hej,

I know that this is stupid but I actually put a desect on the screen. It is not my eyes being tricked by the underline.

Do you see a misalignment in your screenshot?

Please provide a .afdesign file that illustrates the problem. Also, what OS do you use?

It would be interesting to discover that susceptibility to optical illusions correlates with the OS in use.

I'm afraid that it is. Turn off the spell check and look again

My Latin is lousy but my eyes are ''annos sexaginta septem'' and they don't see a problem

I'm cluless on how to save in .afdesign

Walt's request for *.afdesign file seems to be based on the assumption, that you're using Affinity Designer, see your topic title "letters and numbers not aligned in the same text box [Affinity design 1.8.6 on os 10.15.6]", and first post "I'm working one Affinity designer".

Affinity Store (MSI/EXE): Affinity Suite (ADe, APh, APu) 2.5.7.2948 (Retail)

Here is part of the illustration in a .afpub. the version in OS is 10.15.6 (Catalina).

Thanks for the sample file.

Here are two lines of that file, as displayed on my screen, with added Guides:

The numbers are exactly where they should be.

They are also exactly where they should be in your initial screenshot above (as others have stated). Here is part of that screenshot, with a Guide added just above the red spelling underlines, at the base of the letters.

Is all in Arial

Thanks. That was clear from your sample file.

It's also all properly aligned, as we have shown above, using that file and using your screenshots.
