macvolker
after several saves of edited images in Photo, the following message appears irregularly: Error saving. You do not have permission to create files at this save location if I then close Affinity and open it again it goes well again for a while. what could be the reason for this? macvolker
is it possible that in the system settings - security - privacy - these apps are allowed to access your files - here Affinity is not listed! On the other hand, I'm surprised that first everything was possible to save on the desktop in the designated folder, and now already after two edited photos the error message comes. It doesn't seem to be the storage space, it's huge. Something works as if a restriction would take effect.

markw
Hello macvolker and welcome to the Affinity forums🙂 This thread was originally started because a user on a new Mac with an M1 chip is/was only able to launch APhoto once and is now unable to launch it at all. You may get more informed help for your specific issue if you can start your own thread regarding your problem saving files. But first I would suggest you read this FAQ post to see if this might be the cause of your problem: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/106104-faq-why-do-i-get-the-error-failed-to-open-file-or-failed-to-save-document-when-using-affinity-apps-purchased-from-the-mac-app-store-macos/ And reading through this thread may also offer some help perhaps: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/54689-cannot-save-save-failed-because-you-do-not-have-permission-to-create-a-file-in-that-location/ Quote macOS 12.7.6 | 15" Macbook Pro, 2017 | 4 Core i7 3.1GHz CPU | Radeon Pro 555 2GB GPU + Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 1.536GB | 16GB RAM | Wacom Intuos4 M

I think it is another problem.

macvolker
why did it work after reinstalling Affinity photo yesterday morning with the first 10 images without problems and then the failure comes back after every second image the message that it can not be saved there? I have also reset the fonts and closed other photo editing programs. I now have to wait for an update from Affinity at some point? macvolker
Hello, booting Affinity photo takes about 17 seconds, image load depending on size (54MP) the first about in 8 seconds, each additional about 2 seconds. If I leave the first image open as already described everything goes as before without problems. However, at some point after about 25-30 images it sometimes doesn't want to save, or it just keeps going. In any case, the APP has difficulties here. I hope with 1.9 this will be fixed and this wonderful software will give me unrestricted pleasure again. Volker
