G Row Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Hi, Very new to affinity, I have purchased designer on my iPad, thinking about doing the same for my PC, first trying to find out, If I purchase both iPad and PC, can I use them together, to allow me to start a design on the iPad and then work on it from a PC, then continue using the iPad when I am on the move. Is this possible with affinity designer and can I 1. See all my designs when I log into my affinity designer account , whether I login from my iPad or PC? 2. Can I work on the same design from either the iPad or PC, then it is shown to me if I change my device i.e. switch from my iPad to PC and vica versa. Thanks for your help on this Gary Quote
Alfred Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Gary. Your Affinity Store account only provides access to purchased apps and content. There is no provision for storage of your own projects or resources: you would normally use cloud storage for this if you wanted online access across devices. If you’re thinking about purchasing the desktop version of Affinity Designer, treat yourself to a free test drive from here: https://affin.co/designertrial Please make sure to choose the correct version for your machine (Mac or Windows) and note that the trial clock runs for ten consecutive days from the moment you first launch the app. Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
G Row Posted January 5, 2021 Author Posted January 5, 2021 Hi Alfred, Thanks for the very quick response. Ok I see, yes I already have the desktop trial, just could not find out how I can utilise both versions, the iPad and the PC before i purchase the desktop as well. So another little question for you, if you could help me clarify and establish what i can and cannot do:- 1. So affinity does not come with storage, that's fine, I can use google drive or something like that, yes ? 2. IF I wanted to be able to work on a design project, would the following work: Quote
G Row Posted January 5, 2021 Author Posted January 5, 2021 1. I create a project 2. I work on it from my iPad 3. I then save it to my google drive (cloud storage place) as revision 01 4. I can then access it and "IMPORT" ? it into my desktop and I can work on it from my desktop... Then again save it to gdrive as revision 02, so i can open it from my iPad ... then continue like this...until my design is finished... final revision? Would the above be the best way to do this? OR do you have any recommended work flow Thanks again Gary Quote
