john.evans47@yahoo.co.uk
:( I have failed to get my jpeg.afphoto files into photo where I organise all my photographs. Usually it is possible to drag and drop files. How can i do this ? Oompaul
Geminitiger
I would like to know also as i do my organization with photos app.im about to purchase AP but just need a couple of things answering first. Maybe there is an option for exporting the file differently because it sounds like Photos isnt recognising the file type.

Staff MEB Posted September 13, 2015 Staff Share Posted September 13, 2015 Hi john.evans47@yahoo.co.uk, Geminitiger, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) .afphoto and .afdesign files are Affinity proprietary formats and as such not recognised by third party apps. If you export your images from Affinity in a "generic" format like JPEG, TIFF, PNG etc you can then store/work with them in Photos and other apps. Note that those formats will NOT keep Affinity specific features editable (like FX effects, Live filters etc). Those will be rasterised. Hi MEB,so what you are saying is if one needs to work on the files again its best to save as .afphoto but if all editing is finalised we can export as a tiff or jpeg and it will still have all the fx effects and live filters but just not be editable from those file types.?
