Hi there, hope that this failure to fully open up can be fixed.

Purchased Affinity Photo via a Digital License seller: Keyforrest , directed to where I download the latest version : 1.8.5.exe , along with the Product key.

Download fine, setup 'completed successfully', but when opening the Program, all I get is the first screenshot for 2 or 3 seconds, followed by the next one for a few more seconds.

Deleted the program, downloaded again , completed the setup, (not asked for the product key this time) and it's as before. Not fully opening up at all.

Spent a fair time to find very little about this sort of thing, out there on forums, and elsewhere.

My PC is a Windows 10 Pro Edition build 19041 ( 64 BIT ) , 32.676 Ram , Intel Xeon quad ES-1620 v3,  NVIDIA Quadro k2000 video card. Plenty of storage on 3 disk drives, the startup being an ssd.

Can I get some advice, to even start to use what looks like a very impressive image editor?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

The FAQ has some suggestions that might help:

Hello Wilt, thanks for the suggestions.

My Graphics card drivers are updated, colour management profile already on the newly suggested setting, still no joy on opening up. Have saved copies of the Event viewer app & System files.

Baffled, especially as I'm not especially tech brained.

Have you checked whether you have any of the 3rd-party applications installed that are known to cause problems?

OK; I'm out of ideas, then. Sorry.

Actually, one more long-shot: Press and hold the Ctrl key while you're starting the application. Keep it held until you get the "Clear User Data" dialog (which may require clicking the Affinity Photo icon on the taskbar after it appears). Then Select All, and click Clear.

Thank You for the one last long shot, can kind of see where you are going with that. No difference. It's a shame, was looking forward to using the program. Paint shop pro or suchlike , beckons, as I cannot keep scouring for solutions. Hopefully I can get a refund, but not sure , as it was purchased via a separate Digital License seller, and not from Affinity directly.

Thanks for your efforts anyway.

You're welcome.

It's possible that when one of the Serif staff gets around to this topic they'll be able to do something with your event log.
