Marked Text over several pages -> only text on last page covered

Recommended Posts

If you have some connected textboxes, allocated over some pages and you mark text by using Command+PageDown, only text on the last page is visible selected/covered (see screenshot).

Same behavior if you use the mouse. Its "only a cosmetical" problem, but it makes some unconfident feeling in the workflow.

As a Windows user I'm not really familiar with how those shortcuts would work on a Mac. But unless you've configured Affinity's Preferences to enable the standard Mac text shortcuts I wouldn't expect Cmd+PageDown to select anything. Also, unless you've changed the standard Affinity keyboard shortcuts Cmd+PageDown should simply move you down a page without doing any selecting.

So we probably need more information about those options to know how it should be behaving. Someone with a Mac will need to point out where those settings are, if you need additional info about that.

It may be that I have my Mac setup differently from yours (I changed the go to pages Previous/First/Next/Last shortcuts to the Page Up, Home, Page down and End keys on my extended keyboard) ... but if I want to select from my text caret to the last character in the linked text (over many pages) I use Shift + Command + Down Arrow.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

As Old Bruce mentioned, the standard is Shift + Command + Down Arrow. Its my fault, sorry for that wrong combination.

The same or similar effect appears, if you press Command+A (for selecting "all").
If the selection reaches over two or more pages, only the "active" page shows the selected characters. All charcters on all pages are selected, but thats not visible. Its onyl visible on the current page.
