I am looking to be able to make pet portraits photos into maybe four different designs from the original photo supplied to me.  I understand affinity doesn't have this facility which is fine as I can find other apps to do this. My main question is, would Affinity be suitable for me so that I can clear any background from the original photo easily, leaving the pet intact and not looking like a child has originally drawn it lol.    For example the attached photo keeping the long wispy hair around the edges of the dog.  If so what affinity program would you suggest I buy?  Also I wold be using a lap top windows 10 and my printer is Epson WF7710.  Also because I want to put prints onto canvas, I would need to make sure quality would be good enough to expand  and produce a nice standard.

Sorry for my totally idiot question, but I am completely new to all this.

Hello @Lottielala, and welcome to the forums.

I would say that Affiity Photo will do all that you want. Bear in mind though, that masking out a background from wispy hair (dog or human) is not a simpe task. Searching these forum should give you some pointers.

How well you can cut out the pet from the background depends on the resolution of the pet image and how well the pet contrasts against the background and what new background you intend to place the image onto. If people are sending you images of their pets you may not have much control over the quality of the images you receive.

Affinity Photo is the best affinity program to do the above and to enhance images in general

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Thank you that will do nicely, especially as I will be changing image into something like a pencil drawing or Andy Warhol, maybe cartoon.  Well hopefully lol
