begginer: how to fix the wrapping around behaviour with the pen tool - ?

hello again!

i followed the video below and it was successful. but then i tried another sample to trace and had a problem.

i want to know how to fix this when creating nodes with the pen tool (screenshot attached) so that the curve isn't tangled like that. is there a button to flip it?

Take a look at this short video explaining the sequence to create the shape.
