David
Hello, Just started vectoring my first big piece of artwork with Affinity and hit upon a snag... I cant find the eye drop tool? Within my work process I create a shape, add outline colour, point thickness, apply internal colours and style - then when creating a new shape that requires the same treatment click cmd + i, bringing up the eye drop tool which clones styles onto the new object. Is this possible in Affinity? its a bit of a pain to manually do each shape and item. Quote DART | Twitter | Dribbble
Staff MEB Posted September 27, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 27, 2014 Hi FLOKK, Welcome to Affinity Forums, You can copy an item with cmd+c and paste its style pressing shift+cmd+v. David
Thanks, works well :) ... I'm now struggling to add points to paths so I can cut away bits I don't need Quote DART | Twitter | Dribbble
Staff MEB Posted September 27, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 27, 2014 Select the Node Tool and click on the path where you want to add a node. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
aaFrance
Not yet. But you can break paths/shapes: I know this post is from long ago... but I'm trying to find instructions on using the Break Curve action. When I highlight a node and click with this action, nothing seems to happen. I am trying to separate one shape with many nodes into 2 shapes, so I want to separate it in the middle. Can I break a path using this action? Thanks for any help.
R C-R
aaFrance, The Break Curve action only works on one selected node at a time. So the first time you use it, the curve is opened, but the two end nodes are on top of each other & it is still one curve. Applying the action to another node on the curve will separate it into two open curves, but the now four end nodes will still be on top of each other. Looking in the layers panel will show that they are indeed two curves, but otherwise there isn't much indication on screen of that.
