I need all 3 products by Serif Affinity, but when they will be v2

Recommended Posts

Hello support pals!

Here is my question: I want to buy all your macos-products, but I need a free upgrade to v2!

Is it possible to by macOS versions v1.8 now, and get free upgrades <OR> should I wait patiently till v2 are released? : )

TiA! Cheers! : ))

As far as we know, the upgrade to V2 will not be free. And we have no idea how much the V2 applications will cost.

We also have no idea when V2 will be released.

1.9 will be released sometime, probably in the next few months, but whether it is this month or 3 months from now we don't know, and Serif will not say. We do not know what will come after 1.9. Assuming that 1.9.0 is released, we might see, over the course of the next year (or more) 1.9.1, 1.9.2, etc.

We don't know what will come after 1.9.x. After 1.9.x we might see 2.0, and it could in theory happen this year (probably late in the year), or it could happen later. Or, after 1.9.x we might see 1.10, 1.11, etc.

So your patient waiting could conceivably require several years of patience. Someone at Serif presumably has a plan for when 2.0 will come, but no one who knows the details of the plan will be telling us anything.

Based on Serif's release history and need to add some parity features I suspect it will be Q3/Q4 2021.  I doubt it will be much later than that unless 1.9.x releases have some major updates.

For me publisher was purchased direct from Serif and AD, and AP were from the MAS.  When 2.1 ish is available I plan to purchase direct and skip the MAS...

Ps. I never do a x.0 upgrade, with Apple I don't upgrade until x.3 :29_smirk:

KC Honie, hello pal : )

You know, Big Sur 11.1 is stable as hell! : ))

What does 'MAS' stand for?

I stand my ground on Apple :)...  I never upgrade before x.3 and probably won't do big sur until I have to get a new Mac with Mx silicon...

MAS = Mac App Store
