mrs.abby Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 I am an amateur designer. I have designed large banners (3 ft x 7 ft) and can’t get them to export as a psd or jpg. My app crashes when I try jpg, and gets stuck on “generating export” for a psd. Am I doing something wrong? I’ve created banners this size before and never had a problem until this past month. Quote
Alfred Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @mrs.abby, and Happy New Year! What is your DPI setting on export? Unless you’re producing something like a detailed map which people are going to view from a very short distance, you don’t need anything like the 300 or 400 DPI that you might use for a ‘coffee table’ book. A 3 ft × 7 ft banner exported at 100 PPI becomes ‘retina’ (i.e. the individual pixels become indistinguishable) at a viewing distance of less than 3 ft, and if you increase the pixel density to just 150 PPI that minimum viewing distance drops to less than 2 ft. mrs.abby Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 Thank you! I will give that a try. Alfred 1 Quote
