pawl_s Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 When using FFT Denoise it either shows no patter in the window (only black). Or shows destroyed photo (lines in the colors of the photo). In addition also the photo itself gets destroyed, shows similar lines like written before or checkered area. It is different reaction every time, but never a good one. I used the same photo in 1.8 version and did not have this issue yet. Attached is an example, where I got the correct pattern and clicked once on a point.

When did the array of black bars appear? Was this before or after you erased a point in the FFT window? It might help if you could upload the original image so that we can try it out. pawl_s Posted January 8, 2021 Author Posted January 8, 2021 (edited) Hello @John Rostron, sorry I was somehow busy the last days. In version 1.8 everything works perfectly. I have just updated the beta to new version 1.9.0.885, but the issue still exists. Attached you can find a new photo, because I have deleted the previous one. And in addition you can find a screenshot of an effect directly after I start FFT Denoise from menu. The same effect was present in the previous beta version, what I meant with a destroyed photo. This "effect" also affects the original view as shown on a screenshot when I press cancel in FFT Denoise window. The last picture shows an exported JPG after that. The JPG is damaged and also is shown like that in IrfanView. Regarding previous post, the black bars appear only if the FFT Denoise showed correct points (so not when the effect I just described is visible) and directly after I pressed on one of the points (you can see the point on the upper right plane). But I now cannot reproduce it with the new beta. A hint maybe: the FFT Denoise needs more time to show anything with the beta, v1.8 is faster here. Maybe it has to do with the graphics card acceleration? But the GPU-Z shows almost no usage of the GPU (jumps to 1%). In the v1.8 version, when clicking FFT Denoise in menu, the GPU-Z shows 8% spike on GPU usage. Best regards, Pawel Edited January 8, 2021 by pawl_s added GPU-Z information
Staff Gabe Posted January 11, 2021 Staff Posted January 11, 2021 Thanks. This seems to be related to having OpenCL on. Issue now logged.
pawl_s Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 Just to inform: on my PC with the Beta 1.9.1.152 the issue does not appear anymore. And it is much faster when starting FFT Denoise. Thank you.
