Riccardo56789
I'm evaluating the trial version of Publisher. I'm a software developer for a printing business, and I'm creating valid IDML files using python. Those files are opened without a problem from InDesign, however Publisher is returning to me an error. I've attached the IDML file, can someone help figuring out if this is a problem of my IDML or a problem in Publisher? Thanks. biglietti-da-visita-classici.idml
RM f/g
Opened your file in Indesign (CS6), saved as new idml. This second idml openend in Publisher as expected. Changed the extention of both idml-files to .zip and extracted both files. The second zip-file contained the following files/folders: – Resources – designmap.xml – META-INF – mimetype – XML – Stories – Spreads – MasterSpreads Your file only contained – designmap.xml – mimetype I hope this helps to find a solution. Staff Jon P Posted January 5, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 5, 2021 @Riccardo56789. This IDML file conforms to a schema we don't support at the moment. We only support full IDML package files in a similar fashion to that which InDesign saves. There's a chance in the future we may look at supporting this schema InDesign supports, where everything is contained within a single XML file, but for now I'm afraid we won't be able to open this type of IDML file.
