I can't find the offset in designer. Can anyone let me know where it is?

So far, I've tried to add a thick stroke and expand it, but the result is a single curve object, not a compound curve object that I can release, so I'm unsure of how to get to the actual shape I want (without manually deleting all nodes from the shape I don't want... but that's tedious as I have several objects).

So apparently, this thread informs me that there's a new "contour tool", but it doesn't make the workflow faster!

  1. You still loose your initial curve
  2. You still get a double offset, even if you only want one direction
  3. You still have to epxand and clean up afterwards

Quite disappointed, honestly.

The initial curve is not lost. It is not duplicated, if that is what you mean, which is why if you want both the offset version & the original you have to duplicate the original & apply the offset to just one of the two. But you can always reselect the offset version & set the offset to zero to restore it to the original shape.

I am not sure what you mean by "double offset." Can you post an example, preferably an afdesign file with just the curve showing the double, or at least a screenshot of the curve & the Layers panel?

Same for a file or screenshot showing what you mean by clean up afterwards.
