danielschenk Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 When I insert a Page Break in Affinity Publisher by going to Text > Insert > Breaks > Page Breaks, the page breaks where I had my cursor. Great, because it maintains the text flow. However, when I later decide I want to delete the Page Break, I have not found an easy way to do this. The only way to do this was by going to the History section (lower right hand corner) and deleting the action: Insert: "<PBREAK>". However, that deletes all subsequent changes or actions as well, not just the Page Break. The result is that I lose all changes and have to them, without the Page Break, of course. That's tedious. There must be a better way to do this? Any ideas? Thanks, Daniel Quote
Wosven Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Hi @danielschenk You should be able to delete the character break like any other character: positioning your cursor before or after it, and using delete or backspace keys. If you display the special charaters (spaces, tabulations...) you'll be able to see the one used for page breaks, and it'll be easier to get your cursor at the right position to delete them. Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Place the text cursor just before the Page break, and press Delete. (Or, if you're on a Mac, whatever key you would use to delete in a forward direction.) danielschenk Posted December 28, 2020 Author Posted December 28, 2020 That's a great help to know how to locate existing Page Breaks. Thank much Walt, Wosven and Old Bruce. Daniel walt.farrell 1 Quote
HiThere Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Nothing works for me. Special characters are not displayed for me. I tried deleting everything and pasting it back in without formatting. Is there another solution? Again, I have problems in Affinity I never experienced in any software before. Affinity takes so much time that I do not have. Quote
HiThere Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Okay, I found out it was because of a hidden image with Text wrapping activated. But I would clarify this as a bug. Wrapping should change if I hide an image. Because I need to keep this image as a backup in that file, and it is too much work to hide several images and deactivate the wrapping each time. Also, I have another problem with average text breaks, mysteriously at some point it is not possible to make a break without pressing shift, otherwise Affinity will produce a column break instead of a text break. Wrapping is set in relation to the space occupied by the image, and that space remains the same whether the image is visible or not. Sure, but it is not intuitive if the text works with elements that are not there. Especially if you drag in another image with another size, before hiding the last image. Quote
