WNY Bill
Just bought a MacBook Pro 13” with M1 chip. Affinity is supposed to be optimized for M1. I purchased and downloaded Affinity photo from App Store. Downloaded in about a min and opened right up. However, after closing it, I could not get it to reopen. Tried force close then tried to reopen, restart and reopen, neither was successful. I even uninstalled and reinstalled and same sequence happened. Could open once and that’s it. Any ideas why? Thanks. -Bill
Staff Pauls Posted December 24, 2020 Staff Share Posted December 24, 2020 do you get a crash report ? if so attaching it will help us if not does the spash screen appear ? Have you tried running it up with control key pressed ?
babbleninja
Similar issue with mine. However mine opens once I force quit and then reopen. Quite frustrating though. Crash report does not appear, it only appears when the rainbow wheel shows up, which are for other issues.
Staff Chris B Posted January 6, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 6, 2021 I'm using a DTK with an M1 chip and the app after a fresh restart takes exactly 35 seconds to open. If I quit or force quit, it takes ~4 seconds. I cannot reproduce this issue being reported. Currently, I am unsure as to how or if the DTK's M1 chip is different to a retail M1 chip but I'll find out. When you attempt to reopen, does it just bounce and nothing happens?
