s15 Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 So, a good couple of years ago I bought Affinity Designer, but when I sold my Mac I never reinstalled in after getting my replacement device. It wasn't something I used a lot, but I had a list of things I needed to do and now I have a week or so off work I thought I would get around to downloading it onto the new device .... buuuuuut, Affinity doesnt seem to recognise my email address on the store side of things (although it recognises it here?!) Long and short is, it looks like I will have to pay again to download.... Did I get the wrong end of the stick? Is it an annual thing? Any help would be great - I can find the receipt under the email address for the product, but when signing in it's not recognised - looking further it looks like I downloaded it via the Apple store? Im on a Windows machine, but one of the reasons I chose Affinity was I'm sure it could be used across machines? Can anyone help? Quote
Alfred Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @s15. 4 minutes ago, s15 said: Affinity doesnt seem to recognise my email address on the store side of things (although it recognises it here?!) The login for the Affinity Forums is completely separate from the login for the Affinity Store. 5 minutes ago, s15 said: Im on a Windows machine, but one of the reasons I chose Affinity was I'm sure it could be used across machines? The Affinity apps are largely ‘platform agnostic’ (so they share the same feature sets and file format) but they are licensed separately for each platform. Your licence for the Mac version of an Affinity app allows you to install the app on multiple iMacs or MacBooks, but if you want to use the app on Windows desktops or laptops you will have to purchase a different licence. s15 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
s15 Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 Hi, thanks for the reply. Irritatingly, I can't seem to log in even using all my Apple stuff, very VERY frustrating, it must forget you after a couple of years 😢 Aside from the log in issues, looks like I am going to have to buy again then? How annoying, just my luck. Im only back on Windows because the darn MBP decided to melt itself and die and I wasn't risking another "thermal event", bummer. Thanks anyway,! Alfred 1 Quote

However, that’s (sadly) irrelevant if you’ve switched back to Windows. But you may, of course, forget which email address (or Apple ID) you used, or which password you used. If you email affinity@serif.com and give them your name and any old email addresses you might have used they work with you to figure out if you have an account with the Affinity Store. But it won't help you avoid having to buy a new license. s15 Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 Thanks all. I have all my passwords written down and just the one email address, but it seems to be unable to share anything over 18 months on the Apple Store. Anyway, not to worry as it is irrelevant, I shall bide my time for an Affinity sale haha Quote
