Ruby Cooks Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 How to fix? Zoomed in: Zoomed out: Quote
GarryP Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 It might help us to help you if you tell us what the “weird artefacts” are. We have (probably) never seen the image before and don’t know what to expect from it. Do you mean the feint outlines of the countries, or something else? Quote
firstdefence Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 @Ruby Cooks I'm scratching my head too, maybe upload the file or point to the artefacts. Actually maybe it's the lack of the country boundaries when zoomed in? Ruby Cooks Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 @firstdefence @GarryP I am talking about the lines between the countries. There is space between the countries but I put a border around all of them with the same color as their fill color to make sure those gaps are filled. I can only suspect that Affinity deems the borders are too small to be displayed and thus does not display them but this brings back the gap between the countries, creating the borders around them. John Rostron Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 I'm guessing that you are using Designer. As far as I am aware, Designer does not offer the fusion of abutting borders found in true mapmaking programs. This means that gaps between borders can occur which are showing up in your zoomed-in images. Try making your borders thicker, or edit the nodes so that the borders coincide. wonderings Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Are you able to upload the file? Does not make sense to me why the faint lines would not get bigger and more pronounced when zoomed in. Quote
firstdefence Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 You could make an outline of the continent with the same colour and position it below in the layer stack.
