Numbering start at "1" in new Textframe

Hello,

please can anybody help me I'm in big trouble: I have a term paper with almost 100 pages and around 150 pictures. Since the work is divided into several  chapters / sections, I have text frames in which the text overflows and some ones where text starts new. In order to number the pictures consecutively, I set up a numbering paragraph format (pic. 1, pic. 2 an so on). Sometimes it works fin over the new text frames, after closing an d opening maybe the pictures in a new "start-text-frame" begins at "1". One time I have pic. 1, pic. 2 ....pic. 27, pic. 28 and after next time opening the file pic. 1, pic. 2 ....pic. 27, pic. 1.

I hope someone can help me and I am grateful for a solution.

I've attached a screenshot of the paragraph's numbering settings. global mode is already selected, but it does not work.

It doesn't matter if "Nummerierung jetzt neu starten" (restart numbering) is unchecked, checked or filled white.
