Windows Font "Bahnschrift" not displaying properly

I'm new to this forum and to Affinity products. Just downloaded the test versions of Affinity Photo and Designer in order to migrate over from Adobe.

Unfortunately both, A-Photo and A-Designer don't properly show Windows font "Bahnschrift". 

Details: Windows shows the following 15 typefaces for this font:

In A-Photo and A-Designer's font picker I see 15 variants of the font but they all show up as "Regular" and there is no difference when I select one of them.

MS Word, Photoshop and all other applications do show the various typefaces properly.

By the way - Windows font Bahnschrift is included in Win10 since 2017 (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/font-list/bahnschrift)

What's wrong ? Has anyone encountered the same issue - and if yes, are there any solutions?

If that's a variable font I don't think Affinity supports them as yet

Ok, your adobe link above explains this.

Do you know whether/when Serif plans to include support for "variable fonts"?

I have used those fonts in many psd-files and would like continue using them when I migrate over from Adobe.

I’m pretty sure Serif does intend to support variable fonts, but the developers generally don’t commit publicly to a particular timescale for the introduction of bug fixes, improvements or new features.

I hope they do, like Adobe apparently did with indesign recently.
At least this is a key requirement for me before I migrate.
