Old file number appears when I open a pdf online

Recommended Posts

I created a file using Publisher (KF141UHP) & created a pdf from that file  ...all good :)

I copied the file, saved it as a different part (RG316) & then amended the bits that i needed to  ...then created another pdf.

When i open the second pdf (RG316) online it's fine except that it shows the part number of the original part (KF141UHP) in the top left hand corner & in the tab header at the top (see attached image)

How do i change it to the correct part number & how do i adjust my workflow so that the same thing doesn't happen again?

You should have a look at the Fields panel >> Title. A Copy on OS level does not automatically gives the document a new title. You should use "Save as" within APu.

You said "I copied the file", so I assumed you made a copy of the file on OS level. A "Save as" should normally take the newly saved file name as the title. This is what I experienced.

Edit: Now, I experienced something else with an older file. So therefore ALWAYS look at the Fields panel. ;)

I don't think that's a good feature. Title and Filename they have nothing to do with each other, and the fact that when the Title field is empty, Affinity inserts Filename into it, it only confuses users.
