So i'm trying to make a world map in a game and found a vector world map to use. My problem right now is exporting individual countries while preserving their position relative to the map.

i.e. the final export for say the United States from the whole map (screenshot 181) to my desired result (screenshot 182). You can see that the position of the United States is the same but every other country (they're all on different layers) is not present.

Can I do this automatically somehow? Export individual layers while keeping their position? I'd hate to do it individually for all 200-something countries.

Hi and welcome,

basically yes you can do this, though with a little bit of prework here. The Affinity products do have an Export Persona, which you can use to help you by performing this tasks.

But usually the Slices (exporting images) it would create in this case would be the >=200 countries as single country objects in their own layer based size, thus not keeping their overall document position on the whole document size. Meaning you would usually get the layers respective object size only here.

However, in order to force what you are after, you can group a transparent rectangle of the size of your overall document size together with each individual country object ....

.... and then export those groups as layer slices ...

This way you would get what you showed on your Screenshot 182 for each exported country slice ...
