Slammer Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Now that is what I am talking about. How about taking a look at the https://www.facebook.com/groups/ehangar aviation art forum on FB? Quote
Ren De Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 Great talent on that forum! Thanks, Slammer! After scrolling through hundreds of military aircraft it was a relief to the eye to come across your U-534. (I requested to join.) I am still searching for a style and shiny things in dramatic settings appeal to me. This is likely not my last aircraft illustration. Musical instruments also have similar interesting visual qualities... thanks for your tips on Affinity! Quote
peter Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Ren, those clouds really give it some atmosphere, how did you do that? We need more planes in these froums. Ren De Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 Hi Peter, the clouds are a free stock photo from Unsplash. I just used the menu in Affinity Designer to access Unsplash, searched for “clouds” and scrolled through until this one popped up. It had rich colour that echoed some of the reflections on the plane’s fuselage and the light source in the photo was close to that on the plane. I am thinking about just experimenting with Perlin noise to create clouds. I am inspired by Slammer’s work in this area. You might want to have a look at his aircraft illustrations too. Quote
