Does anyone else have the issues with v 1.8.6 often crashing with Big Sur 11.1? My issues are when using Macros whereas a few will work then one will eventually crash the application. It happens almost half the time. I am really trying to use Affinity as much as possible instead of Photoshop, but cannot with so much crashing. ;)

@showingaustin Welcome to the forums.

If the issue is occuring when using macros, once it occurs follow the steps in this FAQ article to retrieve a crash report from the OS to upload. This may indicate where the crash is happening, if it also happens with a particular macro can you also export that macro category from the Library panel and upload.

Yes.  I applied a custom stroke nad now I am unable to go anywhere near that group.

Unable to remove/replace or reformat the layer just crashes Designer out (sometmes with an impressive red screen 😄 )

Looks like I need to recreate it all from scratch.. sigh just three or four hours work to redo.

People can retry with the Big Sur 11.2 update which fixes some of the general Big Sur problems, though I doubt this will change much for the Affinity app line in overall behavior here.

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
